MASUNAGA1905 TOKYO in Aoyama was created by a graphic designer, Makoto Saito, and it was his first architectural design project. The store was fully renovated by TORAFU ARCHITECTS Inc. in 2017. The feature wall capable of holding 150 frames on display consists of birch panels that are arranged in a brick wall pattern and present a 5 tone gradation bridging the natural color of wood and the brand’s signature color dark blue. The panels and the light shining on the products draw a cascade of graphical lines on the wall. In this casual, relaxed atmosphere, customers may try on handmade MASUNAGA frames and enjoy their beautiful details at their own pace.
